The apostle Paul stereotypes, so if Paul stereotypes, the Holy Spirit stereotypes, and if He is doing it, then God is stereotyping too. The question is; why aren’t you? And who taught you that it’s wrong to do so? Feeling guilty because you don’t fit in the box God wants you in? We are not wrong for ‘categorizing’ people, nor are you being ‘boxed’ in. The Bible is very black and white, either you are in one box, or you are in the other box, but regardless, you are always in some box or another. The question is, are you in the right one? God puts us all in a box, a stereotype, when He says that all have sinned. But let us look more closely at just one of many examples found in Scripture, from the great apostle Paul himself.
The apostle Paul stereotyping women who have been widowed; Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not. —1 Timothy 5:13
Now surely Paul knows that men can be lazy and gossip too right? And that not ALL women are like this….so what is Paul doing here? He is generalizing and putting women in a category. Hey!! Not fair!
Who taught you to challenge gender stereotypes? The liberals did, the secular culture did. Nowhere do you find in scripture it being wrong to stereotype. Who said this is something that needs to be fought? The secular liberal people, that’s who. I think it’s high time, we start being proud of being stereotyped. I say it’s high time the church took a stance against liberal feminism. It’s high time for men to be men, and women to be women, we can wait no longer. What’s this, another example you want? My pleasure.
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. –1 Corinthians 16:13
Here we see yet again, the apostle Paul stereotyping men. I know LOTS of men who do not act strong, are not strong, are weak and cowardly. And I know plenty of woman who are strong and brave. Somebody should tell him that he is wrong for putting men in a box, and excluding women like that!! What if men don’t want to be strong? What if a woman wants to be strong? Apparently, he wasn’t up with the times, he probably didn’t know about self-esteem….Let us put our mentalities and ideas to the test, compare them to Scripture; see if they hold true.
