Happiness and The Christian

“Happiness does not depend on outward circumstances, but on the state of the heart.”
J.C. Ryle, A Call to Prayer

It seems to be that way to many Christians have this backwards; if you do, banish it from you mind once and for all. Your circumstances will always be changing, they are never permanent, if you always are basing your happiness on the temporal, your happiness will never be solid. You will always be chasing it. Instead “seek the Kingdom first, and all these things will be added to you.” Place your happiness in He who never changes, and is eternal my friends, and never look back on any other kind of passing and elusive happiness.
